Oh, I am so glad to hear this @Dimity!
What was the webinar about? 😍

It was on Treaty in Victoria @AuntGlow .
I'm making an effort in various directions. I'm trying to think positively and make longterm plans after years of anticipating imminent disaster. (I've had an epiphany. After weeks of struggle I had a couple of vivid dreams I've reflected on that gave new insights.) I've met a new psychologist. And I'm hoping to link with local social support.

I had issues for years @Dimity, gp I saw at the time finally referred me to gastroenterologist. Both scopes done plus variety of blood tests. Results showed negative for colitis and crohns and that I carry both crohns genes which were ( and are) inactive. Through process of elimination he diagnosed me with IBS. Stress can trigger IBS attack, so can types of food. After seeing dietician the gastroenterologist recommended I changed aspects of my diet, biggest being having gluten free foods
that’s great there will be help with transport with the exercise group. Sounds like lots of positive outcomes
all the best with ACT, hoping it brings you the outcomes you are looking for. End of next week I have next appointment with my therapist, suspect will continue schema therapy that appointment (based on couple things therapist said last appointment).
will you continuing seeing your therapist or have decided not to see her again due to recent issues?
I was hoping to have received some thoughts from a PSW regarding whether to continue seeing my therapist or not plus her pattern of explaining one item multiple times. Guessing it’s not happening. Think I’m going to have to raise the issue with my therapist again. Ive decided if happens 3rd time I won’t see her again.
I was looking forward to going for short walk this week plus croquet on Friday. Feeling bit low as neither going to happen. Getting groceries delivered tomorrow, know I wouldn’t get to the shops myself

Oh my gosh @Dimity! It sounds like so much has shifted for you!
These dreams seem to have made quite the impact. If you feel comfortable, it would be lovely to hear your insights.
A new psychologist too, amazing. What was your appointment like?
And do you know what social supports you might be accessing? 🤩

I didn't know Crohns genes could be inactive @Patches59 . Perhaps they can activate for someone having not been active before. My symptoms seem related to both stress and diet. And anticholinergic meds. Perhaps your recent stress is exacerbating you condition. Can you get help from your gp?
The person I've been seeing is a mental health social worker. She seems to provide counselling rather than therapy. I gave careful consideration as to whether to go back, and did, but I'm not sure how long I'll continue.
I wonder if any SANE PSWs can help you decide. It might be worth posting the question in a new thread.
Hopefully you'll be back to more activity next week, after the 7-10 day recovery period. Can you watch your team tomorrow and coach them?
I just had home help... I'm conscious of my clutter and shabbiness. The helper discussed both but was very nice about it.

@Dimity That is what my gastroenterologist told me about my Crohns genes. Based on my symptoms he thought blood test would show active Crohns genes.
Are you happy with the home help? Will it be the same person each time (weekly or fortnightly)?

Hope being glutenfree helps even if the Crohns genes are inactive. I have a high fibre mostly unprocessed diet with yoghurt etc for probiotics. And I'm happiest without much wheat.
I've just had the same helper 3 fortnights running. I was told she'd be regular and she seems a good and nice person.
Tiger is sitting beside telling me how much he enjoyed his jellymeat whiskas. I hadn't thought to try it until recently.
How are you tonight? Hope you're improving @Patches59

@AuntGlow I had a rare dream of my late mother and it seemed to confirm I was doing the right thing in trying to organise family therapy (even though the window of opportunity has passed for now) and suggested a way of financing it. I had another dream of waiting and waiting in an office to reconnect with long past studies and in processing it I wondered what I was waiting for. And realised for years I've assumed my lifespan wouldn't extend beyond another 12 months but in fact it could be 20 years and I should rethink and plan accordingly. I don't want to return to formal study but suddenly my outlook changed.

I’m gluten free, nothing acidic (including all stone fruit, pears and grapes), yoghurt that is pot set or berry yoplait. Has massively reduced number of flare ups plus indigestion.
I bought some silvery vine chew toys, cats supposed to love them plus supposed to be good for cleaning their teeth. So far, all my 2 do is play with them.
phone call today from nurse at pain management group. Is happy I’ve got almost no pain, advised to take things easy next few days and walking more inside.
was told today infusion will cost me $zero.
very nice surprise. Also won’t be waiting in admission for 2 to 3 hrs like the last 2 times.

Lots of good news there @Patches59 . Especially the success of your first and second procedures and the good news about the third.
Got some late messages from the solicitor's office. The end is in sight. They've just about finished everything, but there's still a couple of documents I'll have to finalise myself.
I give Tiger Hills Science Diet Oral Care kibble for his teeth. He's never liked chicken necks or other things recommended for good dental health.
