Re: General chat

Hi @Dimity   Hoping things go well at your GP appointment and having the written list is helpful for both.  I’ve done similar in the past when I have various things to discuss or need done.

hoping all goes well with family counselling.

im in a much better head space than I have been recently.  if don’t get message from you, I understand.

I’m still working through, processing etc things regarding some of my own relatives.  Reaching a point do I keep going vs do I cut them out of my life.  Shifting goal posts I’m also trying to deal with.

Sounds can be relaxing and calming for some people eg sounds of waves.  My late husband was suggested to try few different types of music when he attended a pain management practice.   Hoping you find things that are helpful.

got down to -1 here last night.  Currently 8 outside, heater on, my feet and hands still soooo cold.

thinking of you and sending hugs  🤗🤗

Re: General chat

That's okay @Dimity! It can be hard to keep up with every thread, you're allowed to take your time and I will never be upset if you don't get back to me. ☺️

Ooh, that is so interesting. Meditation can be a lot for the nervous system if we haven't first discharged energy... maybe you could listen to it while you're walking or moving your body/stretching. Meditation doesn't have to be still (even if they are guiding you to do so). It's trauma-friendly to allow your body to do what feels safe and comfortable.

Yes, Tara Brach would be wonderful for you!! Yoga Nidra can create such a calming space, can't it?

I have definitely fallen asleep in a YN class haha

I hope you are able to explore some of these strategies tonight. You have a lot of strategies in your toolkit. 💛

Re: General chat

Thanks @Patches59 . Glad you're in a better headspace.

I find wind in the trees soothing. And rain. When I was a kid ocean waves.

Gosh it's a long time since I was on an ocean beach.

The GP was OK I guess. She's very nice but I'd be a difficult patient. I think the written list worked. I'll have a follow-up to get through it.

It was cold here this morning too.

Tomorrow I'm hoping for a quiet day. Do you need to do anything to prepare for Thursday?

Re: General chat

@Dimity   Atm I’m trying not to think about Thursday due to my anxiety, feel I’m on the edge of panic attacks.  Can feel all the nervous tension in my chest.

Tomorrow going to buy new overnight bag.  Thursday need to be ready to leave the house by 8:45am

no other preparations.

today booked time for Covid booster for early September.  I’m supposed to have booster each 6 mths, last booster was at least 12mths ago.

soon after that as possible I want and need to get down near the coast.  To sit in my favourite location and look out to sea, the waves breaking as they get closer to shore.

Already very cold here tonight.  Temperature predicted to be similar as last night. 🥶

couple small things to do tomorrow prior to trying to keep my mind concentrating on things.  Planning on following few days being quiet relaxing days.  Housework and sorting/tidying can wait until next week.

hope the next few days are warm and you get a chance to get outside

Re: General chat

An ocean view sounds lovely @Patches59 .Something to look forward to.

I had a quiet day. It was lovely and sunny but I only got.out for 1/2 hour, apart from pegging 2 loads of washing. I'm still anxious but taking small steps  as I think of them.

Hope you've been OK and stayed on top of the panic. I'm sure you'll be in good hands.

Re: General chat

Phone call from hospital today, need to be there lot earlier.  Nothing to drink after 5:30am.   Hope I’m not sitting around for ages waiting.

today was mainly usual.  Awake about 10am.  Early afternoon went shopping for couple things.  Bit of housework. Bag almost ready for the morning.

Have to get up very early tomorrow so calling it quits.

(haven’t had good sleep for weeks now due to nightmares)

Re: General chat

Thinking of you @Patches59 .

Re: General chat

@Dimity @tyme @rav3n

Procedure went well.

some pain related to the procedure which should ease over next few days.

very long 3 hrs sitting in hospital waiting to go to theatre

Re: General chat

Glad it's done and you're mostly OK @Patches59 . Hope you can rest up tonight and tomorrow.  Snuggling with the cats might help!

Re: General chat

Hey @Patches59 ,

I've been thinking about you. Thank you for the update. Glad to hear it went well.

I can only imaging how long the pre-op was and most likely how hungry you would've been!

Please rest up and let us know if you need any company 🙂
