@Dimity Thought of going to the coast hasn’t even entered my mind. Idea of going to paternal ancestral area on hold atm, might not happen this year now
have pain diary to complete. No additional pain relief.
pain not as bad as was unless bending over or pressure on base of spine. Back pain not helping my insomnia. Still takes days to remake the bed.
review appointment moved forward to 2 weeks time. Pain management Dr wanting to do radio frequency ablation (2nd procedure) by mid October.
croquet (depending on rain) and therapist on Friday, COVID booster on Monday. Today ordered 2pr shoes from specialist shoe store, hope to collect late next week.

The shoes will be something to look forward to @Patches59 . My runners are wearing out, I'll need new ones.
I'm lucky I haven't been woken by pain for quite a while. Perhaps my physio has made a difference. It's hard. I found heat helped, so did a pharmacy med.
RF ablation in 6 weeks? Ĥope you can get by til then. Glad it's not months away.
I see the solicitor tomorrow. Still working through the paperwork.

Shoes look like running shoes, cost +$250 per pair. Due to feet issues due to spinal damage as early teenager I can’t go to general shoe store.
only way to describe the recent pain ….. like sitting on hard piece of wood that has rock fastened to it, rock pushing against tail bone. Isn’t there all the time thank goodness. 1hr maximum during the day and have to move.
ive got med on script I can take plus various heat options including stick on heat packs, helps with the muscles only.
Approx 5 to 6 mths since the extreme back pain started, few weeks is nothing in comparison. Approx 40yrs of OA pain, body tends to adjust to the pain.
majority of things weighing heavy on my mind I haven’t mentioned, forums not the place to mention. Too draining on me
hope all goes well with solicitor. Due to major maintenance work being done, going to be no power for anyone tomorrow for almost entire working day

Covid booster Monday afternoon.
hoping to start on front room mid next week

It's good the power outage wasn't too long @Patches59 . I'll have one in a week or two.
Well done on persevering with laundry baskets.
The solicitor was good thanks, we're moving forwards. I feel overwhelmed by everything I'll have to do in the next 3 weeks but one thing at.a time.
Hope the weather's OK for your croquet.

@Dimity Could writing a list of things to be done and crossing each one off as it’s done help with the horrid overwhelmed feeling?
with not having played croquet for 2 weeks, plus knowing I’ve got one (possibly 2) more day I won’t be able to play this year, I’m hoping the rain holds off enough our game at noon goes ahead. With needing to leave to get to therapist appointment at 2pm, I can’t afford for the game to run overtime.
therapist has already told me what she wants to focus on tomorrow. I’ve got things I want to talk with her about. Appointment could go either way

Hope the therapist was OK and croquet was enjoyable...
I think what's scaring me is I haven't used my laptop for years and have forgotten my passwords and how to use the subscription software. But I'll need it to write and upload a lot of documents. I'll also have.to find out how to change my bank details for all my regular transactions. There's so much to set up and work through.
Tiger says he's hungry. He's barely eaten for days. I'll try some jellymeat whiskas.

@Dimity Some suggestions
Forgotten passwords. If can’t remember password to unlock your laptop, computer repair shops can help. There are online videos that show how can be done yourself, if you prefer
if have programs on laptop that need password to access, there may be option on the login screen for each program to allow you to change password.
another option could be paying someone to come to your home and help with as much as possible whilst there. Eg Jims computers or Airtasker. (2 that quickly come to mind)
changing bank details for transactions. First thing I would try is phoning each business and asking if staff can change it for you on their end. After I moved I made numerous phone calls to businesses to have my address and/or bank details updated.
I find lists work for me, understand they don’t work for everyone. For updating bank details I would (have done more than once) write name and phone number of each business, putting lines through the business details each time all things were updated.
only suggestion - keeping a list of each password and what it is for and placing the book (or whatever you have used) in spot you will remember and easily find. Something I learnt to do whilst working and continue doing at home up to current day is keeping written record of every password I use
therapist was ok, mainly talked about my health and how I’ve been going last month. Croquet got cancelled again, approx 5mins before game due to start player from the other team turned up and said they were forfeiting. I did get opportunity to have good talk to one of croquet committee members about ongoing issues which are getting worse. He validated my frustrations etc and has given me some positive things to consider
this morning sent very clear, concise email containing very specific details to firm I’m trying to work through ongoing issues with. My first enquiring was couple of years ago, information provided at that time meant outcome was ‘No’. Same enquiry by 2 different people last year/earlier this year generated different outcomes, parts contradicting each other or part of outcome of first enquiry.
Currently trying to sort through this, dealing with couple extended family issues (one connected to intergenerational abuse and trauma), couple smaller things including something linked to me I don’t fully understand plus this damn OA. Some times want to crawl into a shell and stay hidden from the world.
i don’t talk about things that are going on, my choice and I’m ok with that. I do get the feelings of being overwhelmed or drowning.

Thanks for your help @Patches59 . I'll try to work through the illogical fear.
Best wishes for your family and business struggles. I can't go into detail about mine either, apart from saying they're there. They can really drag you down.
I wrote down most passwords but it seems I didn't for some important ones. They're for cloud based things and I'm scared I'll lose access if I can't successfully change them.
I'll try to push through some pain abd gut issues, probably psychosomatic.
Have a good weekend.

Don’t think I’d refer to your fear as illogical @Dimity
needing to be able to access things, currently can’t and unsure if will be able to would be scary for anyone.
the more important it is to be able to access the items, the higher fear becomes.
Have you tried giving your mind a break and doing things that can calm you and your racing thoughts?
I’ve had a weekend of no energy or interest to do much. Today did manage to change sheets on the bed…. again. Set I put on only few days ago don’t fit properly due to my mattress being quite high. The op-shop pile continue to grow.
hoping to put some clean laundry away plus do couple other things tomorrow before getting Covid booster in the afternoon.
hoping the weekend was kind to you
