So sorry to hear what you have been going through.  What an awful predicament ....,

Can you try one more thing ?  

Can you try writing to the specialist and explain the situation ?

They might make the exception for you (yes, it shouldn't be that way) and see you somewhere else in town while they are there, or perhaps find a loophole within the medical system that allows your transport to be paid as a one-off support "event".

I am hopeful a solution can be found for you.

@Faith-and-Hope they are trying to get a room somewhere else because they said they are getting quite a few people not able to see them there. He had been told that he could see anyone there and not have it limited to race but has found out it is not so. H

They get aboriginal funding. Apparently the government has some sort of rules in place that if any service gets funding for aboriginals then it cannot be used by anyone else without them losing funding even if the same is not available for everyone else. Several of the organisations have told me that, and the local member of parliament did too.

It's good that people are speaking up about it @cutiepiekitty .... hopefully it will start to balance out a bit more.  There will be ways to honour the funding without excluding others from the services entirely.
