I also want to quickly share how to tag members: using the @ symbol, you can type out the username and select it. When it becomes blue, it means the user will be tagged and notified of your response.
@beeboop the above response from @WaveGoodNight is for you 😊

I understand that different people have different needs, but in my experience, even when I’m clear about what I need, to feel heard and understood, I still get responses that are scripted rather than genuine. It feels hollow and unhelpful.
I thought the point of these forums was real peer connection, but it just feels like an echo chamber of therapy-speak.

@WaveGoodNight thank you for taking the time to respond. I just wanted to vent my disappointment and frustration and to be listened to

I'm sorry you feel that way @beeboop, I hear how hard it is to reach out when that trust is low. It makes a lot of sense that you'd feel exhausted, it takes a lot of strength and energy to seek help. I'm glad that you're here. We want to help you feel supported here.
The forums is a recovery-focused space (you can learn more about this here: How To: Recovery Focused Posting), which is why we encourage members to share how they want to be supported on the forums too. I can see you've done this in your recent post, where you mentioned: I just wanted to vent my disappointment and frustration and to be listened to
Initially I had interpreted your previous post as wanting to get support with communicating your needs with your support team, but I can see now that you wanted to vent and feel heard. Thank you for letting us know, we're here to listen.

Hey @beeboop , you are so right, people are using tools like chatGPT that feel so scripted and leave out the human element. Most sites are for casual chats or flings, when it comes to genuinely supporting people no one seems interested, hence why I want to start something that is real.in the community.
To be fair there are many organisations and wonderful people around but finding them without getting frustrated is so hard. I'm new to this forum so I can't speak about it, I'm sure you know it better than me but the issue always with forums is if your message is understood or not and if people actually want to help you if they want to look like they are trying to help you.
It's good to vent but even better when your understood, hopefully I can be here for both. I can't offer any guarantee but I will be genuine and I can just listen or I can give you my advice.
When I'm talking to someone I understand there are two people involved and both sides should respect eachother thoughts and boundaries but that can only happen when it's genuine and open which can be difficult for some.
For now reach out whenever you like,
today you may not have your solution but I hope you are in a little step closer to feeling you can get to your destination, you have a few new people showing genuine interest and hopefully that can be built momentum.
Again I'm always proud of people for being brave to continue to reach out when they are always let down, it shows me you are genuine and don't want to really give up you just looking for some real support.
Chat to you soon
