Hi there everyone,
I had a very abusive childhood with two narcissistic parents.
I had a life threatening workplace accident 11 years ago, diagnosed with CPTSD and Bipolar 1 disorder.
I was wondering if anyone knew of a social group in Melbourne's other North eastern suburbs that just gets together and shoots the breeze, does a café lunch every now and then, that sort of thing.
My wife of 23 years and two adult children are at their wits end of my aggression and hostility towards them.
Please let me know what you have. I already see a Psychiatrist and a Psychologist.
Many thanks

hey @BipolarRich welcome to the forums!
thank you for sharing, and i'm so sorry to hear how hard things have been for you. it's so great to see you reaching out, i can see that you're trying really hard to be a better person for yourself and your family.
i haven't checked these social groups myself but i did want to share it in case you're interested in exploring:
Coffee and chat group - cohealth - they have a few locations around Victoria, you can reach out to them and see if there's availability to join.
there's this site called Meetup where people post upcoming social events across cities/suburbs, and there's a mental health walk one: Mind The Walk | Meetup but i think it's located in the city.
i also just wanted to let you know of our community guidelines around staying anonymous. i've made a slight edit to your post to protect your anonymity (sharing names, suburb we live in, professionals we're actively engaging with, etc) - if you have any questions around this, please feel free to ask!

Hello Rich, an innocent question here and I ask because other people have asked similar things to me, and I have been surprised to have the answers in my head:
WHY are you aggressive towards your Wife and Children?
