@Dimity I’m confused how a legal matter has led to you cancelling a medical procedure.
Is it beneficial talking to your local GP or specialist, if one was involved, about the medical side of things, your concerns etc?
With the legal matter, might it be worth discussing situation with different lawyer from different firm?

@Patches59 Trigger warning please @moderator
TW:
2 people in my family said not to have any procedures until I've set up powers of attorney and changed my will. They'd got a fright when I was sick a few months ago. Its a lot of pressure. There's different pressure (financial drain) from other family. And then there's nasty estranged family, one of whom is my default next of kin. I was told they'd probably claim I was incompetent if I disinherited them. I consulted the solicitor who perhaps rightly thought we're all barmy and said I need to be certified competent by my psychiatrist at the time of signing the legal documents. God knows what happens if I'm deemed incompetent, maybe I'm turned over to the state trustee.
I'm well overdue for the colonoscopy and know I'm at high risk given what happened with the last ones.
I'm also in dispute with my bank, over actions they took recently.
It's a mess.
Hope you're going OK and bearing up well. I'm confused by the 3 different procedures you're having - are you on track for the one on the 21st? Have you booked the cats into a cattery?

@Dimity Due to the stress and panic attacks lawyer earlier this year caused me due to items relating to my late husbands sons I can understand the stress and pressure family are causing.
very similar legal things I witnessed my FIL go through. Due to his age he had to get similar letter from his gp. Horrible and very stressful things I witnessed him go through due to family ‘involvement’.
bank issues - if can’t be easily resolved, might be worth contacting Banking Ombudsman for their help. I’ve contact different ombudsman couple times, found them helpful
my medical things
- on 21 August, diagnostic medial branch block (procedure one)
- from 1 December, week hospital stay due to infusion of medication (procedure two)
- procedure three, Radiofrequency ablation (depending on outcome of medial branch block). If nerves targeted on 21 August are not source of pain, will need to have procedure one done again on different area
cats already booked into cattery from first week of December. Other procedures are day procedures

@Patches59 I asked my MP's office.about a banking ombudsman but they put me onto Aust Financial Complaints Authority.
Yes the legal stuff isn't nice. Sorry to hear of your experiences.
It's good you might have pain relief soon if the August trial works. I'm tired and sore after today's walking and housework. I'm finding shopping harder as stuff is heavy but I don't really want to go back to ordering online.
Hope your craft is giving you pleasure. I should make the effort. I have piles of sewing in the corner.

August procedure is only diagnostic @Dimity. Pain management Dr has said benefit most likely won’t last long. It’s to see of nerves that are targeted are the ones causing my back pain.
procedure in December has 50% chance I will get at least some pain relief, period of time is unpredictable
i spent very pleasant 3 hours today catching up with lady I have only had text messages with since December last year.
Is good you are going to get help and support from Financial Complaints Authority.
im finding similar with groceries due to my back. I’ve don’t some online ordering recently, not the same as shopping in person though.
I’ve been awake since 6am today, feeling very tired. Most nights I now struggle to get comfortable in bed. Not a good day pain wise. Going to bed to get some sleep.
Next few days I’m hoping to finish reorganising my wardrobe

Yes getting comfortable in bed can be hard @Patches59 . Positions, pillows/cushions etc can make a difference sometimes.
No help yet from AFCA, I don't even know if they're following up my complaint as I've had contradictory messages.
I don't know what things are like in your village but my owners corporation neighbours can be niggly. Was told today when cleaning other people's trash it's rude to ask them to take responsibility. It was a tenant not an owner. Another owner who's a recluse said it's not nice to ask how they are and if they're OK. We're self-managed, there's no agent in charge.
I'm sorry to hear your probabilities of pain relief aren't high. I do hope you're in the lucky 50% and it all helps. I have some risk of relapse after the surgery I had 6 months ago but so far it's been OK.
Hope things improve for you - did you rest up today?

@Dimity I have few health issues that impact my lower spine. Ive been told inoperable cyst shouldn’t cause pain unless presses on nerves. must look so funny to others how I sleep, head and knees both elevated. Catch 22, cant get comfortable either way now.
where I live we are all homeowners and fully independant. It’s similar to general homeowner, differences being we pay for utilities only. Weekly payment covers everything else including access to all facilities. Most people wave, apart from that most keep to ourselves.
my GP told me the medication in the infusion interacts with pain receptors in the brain and therefore outcome can be different from person to person. I’ve decided to have each procedure/treatment once at this stage. Will I have them again, atm I honestly don’t know.
sounds frustrating and annoying receiving contradictory messages regarding the banking complaint. Hope you are able to get definite answer soon so you know exactly what’s happening.
Some wardrobe organising got done plus cleared almost everything off the kitchen table. One laundry basket emptied. Made a mess though and created more work for myself
yesterday I spent very enjoyable time with a lady from the village. Mentioned to her the raised garden beds, she suggested I get exact measurements and ask the group of male residents who work in the workshop to make them for me plus deliver them. I know this group have made other garden beds plus bird feeders. My neighbour who volunteered is involved with lots of groups, says will do things and then forgets.
fingers crossed the surgery earlier this year continues to be 100% successful and you don’t have a relapse. Will you have to take precautions and be careful when doing things to try to prevent a relapse?
im getting used to pacing myself, having to take things slower and having to rest. At this stage only plans I have for tomorrow are watching dvds I borrowed from the village library yesterday.
how was your day today?
you have any plans for tomorrow?
