hey there @Former-Member @Dimity i've been catching up on the grandparents/family chats as well, intergenerational trauma definitely has its impact. it's hard when the responsibility of breaking that cycle is placed on the newer/recent gen, but every lil progress and step forward counts.
how are you both going this week?
@Former-Member how's your recovery going? that knitted cushion pattern looks nice, how long would it take you do make it?
@Dimity do you knit too? oo the frangipani tree flowers are so beautiful!! such tropical vibes!!

I hope you didn't do any damage @Former-Member and have been able to rest up today.
Hello @rav3n. I'm not a good knitter and haven't done any for years but am thinking of picking up needles again.
Today I had counselling. One small thing was how my great grandfather's acquired brain injury reverberated. And other things in other generations.
Cattery fees can add up - Tiger had 4 weeks or more earlier this year - but there's peace of mind in knowing they're looked after.
The first few flowers on my native frangipani are out today. It's getting earlier each year - a few years ago it was late October.

Hello @AuntGlow . Nice to see you.
I'm OK thanks. At a bit of a loss after a full day. It's a lovely evening here - one of the first longer evenings.

Yesterday I was feeling good and pain free, unpacked my case. Mistake. Pain fully settled with help of cold pack and OTC pain meds. Post procedure info sheet says mild to moderate pain is normal for 7 to 10 days, commence light activity then; benefit of procedure may take 4 to 6 weeks.
slight discomfort to bit of mild pain whilst resting on the couch, male feline nurse stretched out on my legs.
Frangipani flower colour sounds lovely. Weather conditions here are different than 2yrs ago, when I moved in.
no idea how long takes me to knit one side of the cushion, has been years since last knitted this pattern. I also don’t sit and knit all day

I'm glad the treatment and a good nurse made a difference @Former-Member .
It sounds as though you might not have long to evaluate this second stage of treatment before launching into the third stage. Finger's crossed the benefits kick in at 4 weeks.

What is making you feel at a bit of a loss @Dimity? You don't need to share, but here to listen. 🫶
Ah, aren't the longer evenings lovely? I am enjoying it already. 🤩

I wasn't sure what to do next
@AuntGlow and didn't want to waste the evening. I forgot I had a webinar coming up. It was interesting and inspiring so my evening wasn't wasted after all.

@Dimity 1st procedure was diagnostic for 2nd procedure. 3rd procedure is also for pain relief but no connection to either 1st or 2nd procedure. 3rd procedure involves infusion of pain relief med during entire week. 1st and 2nd procedures involved needles into my back in 90min in theatre.
pain relief this time is
step 1) 7 to 10 days for pain around injection site to stop
step 2) 4 to 5 weeks before the specific nerves stop sending pain signals
atm feeling like I’ve got gastro. Between that and mild pain in my lower back I’m feeling quite miserable.

Oh dear @Former-Member hope you don't have gastro it's the last thing you need. Hope you're not ill overnight.
Sounds as though the 2nd and 3rd procedures might be for different sources of pain? I certainly hope they both work.
Time to attend to Tiger and head to bed. Please take care. Fingers crossed it's a mikd tummy upset that passes quickly.
