Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

Passing someone you dont know (mainly on my morning walks) who says hello or gives you a smile. Its something i also do myself but i always appreciate it no matter what. Just a little bit of needed kindness. 😊

Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

My talent to bake really yummy foods. I love baking from scratch with no recipe or only looking over one or two for reference. I often create the most yummy baked sweets and also bake for my loved ones. It brings me joy to create something from experimenting but also made with love and watching the people around me enjoy it all 😊

Hrmm @MissLil @Patches59 @Captain24 @hanami @Former-Member ,

A skill that I have would be to problem solve. I don't tend to take things to heart (any more) and can move on easily. I find ways to move on 🙂

Howdy forums fam! Hope you're all having a thrifty, thankful, thriving Thursday.

Love to see how many have been contributing to the thread and keeping the conversation flowing! Here's the next query~

What's a goal you have accomplished or would like to accomplish? How did it/would it make you feel to achieve it?

For me, over the past few years my biggest goal I've achieved has been to successfully live alone for the first time in my life. I'd had so many horrible housemate experiences, and never thought my mental health would be good enough to be able to fly solo in a place for extended periods. I sometimes still feel baffled by how far I've come! And also very proud 😊

How about you fam?

That’s heaps cool @Jynx congrats!

I was pretty proud of my effort to travel overseas last year for a month with my daughter and not have any major breakdowns or issues. Considering how challenging things were in the lead up to leaving and some of my team not having too much confidence in my abilities, I managed pretty ok.

Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

Sounds great @Bow ! I'm glad you were able to have a good trip.

Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

You did amazing with that trip @Bow

And @Jynx go you!!! Totally get that. I am scared of being on my own for too long. Hence one of the reasons I wanted a big family. Well they are all grown up and I'm frequently alone (well for part of the day at least!) and I'm fine. IN fact I look forward to being on my own.

Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

A goal I accomplished @Jynx  was building a new house. It’s my first home, that’s not a rental. I’m pretty proud.

Also a goal I want to achieve is to do my Cert IV in Mental Health. I’m hoping to be able to help others.

Re: MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH: Australia, Let's Talk (October 2023)

You should be proud @Jynx on being on your own.

@Bow that is a great accomplishment, I hope there are many more overseas trips for you.

@hanami I like being on my own too.

@Captain24 well done on building your own house. I hope you achieve your studies.

My biggest goal was raising two children. It makes me so proud of the people that they are becoming.
