Re: Saturday Soiree - 12th June 2025

Hi @tyme

It's a lovely sunny day here today

So far it's pretty quite, except for the rustle of the tree leaves being blown by wind and the chirping of the birds. There is some distant noises of mowing and cars, but you can't have everything.

Today I have to finish the minutes for my sport committee, I have taken my laptop to my old lounge and a rickety old table on the verandah so I can get some sun on me while I try to interpret my scribbles I made in last week meeting!

I suppose I am combining work with self-care as I will be able to watch the butterflies, dragonflies, hover flies and birds as well and now the clouds scudding past, hear the above sounds and feel the warmth of the sun on my skin.

Later I will do some other chores and maybe a bit of reading if the sun stays out. Chop more firewood (I actually quite like doing that and it reminds me of Dad)

Later, I will pick some parsley and gather my lemons together to take to sport team for people who may want them tomorrow

I apologise for only post short interactions with forums recently, I will just monitor my engagement

Hello @tyme , @Till23 😍

Feel free to share:

1. What's on the agenda today?  -- Well today is very cloudy and cool but not raining yet so going to have a easy afternoon relaxing

2. Any goals you want to achieve today? ---- I wanted to plant my new plants and seeds in potholders but because of the weather I decided not to

so going to leave it until tomorrow

3. Any self-care activities? --- because of my osteoporosis pains ( feels like i am going to break a bone somewhere) are really bad today, I am having an easy restful day in front of computer and phone and watching tv

Hey @Shaz51 @Till23 ,

Thanks for sharing!

It's so pleasant to read of your day, your plans, your adventures!

It sounds like the garden is a common theme. I'm not going to lie, I haven't even seen my garden yet. I need to learn from you @Till23 to pay more attention to mother nature - to 'feel' it, to 'embrace' it, to 'learn' from it. @Till23 , do you plan on making anything from the parsley? Tabouli? It looks so super healthy! Between the parsely and lemon, you may get a very yummy salad!

@Shaz51 , I hope you feel better soon. I've got no idea what it feels like to feel you may be close to breaking a bone. I can only imagine the anxiety! And I hope it doesn't happen for you! Is there anything you can do about it?

Thanks for posting those gorgeous photos @Shaz51 @Till23 - it brings light to the gloominess on this cloudy, cold winter's day 🙂

Re: Saturday Soiree - 12th June 2025

Thanks @tyme I am just wondering what time you are on until this afternoon/evening?

I absolutely love nature, there is plenty of evidence for the role of nature in health, both physical and mental health. I can say without any doubt that if it wasn't for my ability, taught mostly by my Dad, to engage fully in nature I would not be here today, I would have been gone decades ago. My most stressful periods have been when I have lived in places with little access to nature.

I have made a parsley based pesto before - I haven't posted the photo but I also have a lot of basil, but you can use the parsley to pad out the basil flavour a bit (I love basil though).

I have heaps of lemons from my tree (bucketfuls), so I will take them both to my sport to give away to people, just keeping a few lemons and I have a whole other parsley plant for me!

Gardening is therapeutic I find @tyme @Shaz51 and there are other gardeners on here like @Dimity and I'm sure others I forgotten @Appleblossom at least grows herbs I know
