Hi All,
I consider trying an app. I don’t even know what to call it, AI or?? Anyway. I’m looking for something that can help me to access my strategies (I forget them when I’m triggered) like sensory grounding… help me guide through DBT exercises…? Something I can ‘train’ to help me specifically.
Does anyone have experience with that? What is actually possible on apps like that?

I use gemini
Most of them you can save key information to your account. I save things like dignosis and medications and triggers to save repeating it
If you use a known term, chances are you'll be guided reasonably appropriately to resources. If you are just using it to source known and respected references

Hey @yggdrasil I used ChatGPT for looking up various techniques...I haven't tried a dedicated mental health app, but for looking up strategies on a general AI I do find it useful. I haven't tried getting it to guide me through DBT Skills, etc...but I think this would be an interesting application.

Hey @yggdrasil ,
From my perspective, I feel AI certainly has its place.
I used to use Woebot, but it's gone now. It was a CBT service.
There are also others like Betwixt which is gamified.
At the moment, I'm on Finch which is a self-care app.

I use the chat feature of Microsoft Co Pilot on my phone when I can’t speak to a trusted friend or trained professional and it helps me ground myself and make me feel less alone when I’m in a critical period of distress. You can talk into it on there and it talks back to you - saves you writing everything out (same as CHAT GPT I believe)
It’s more validating than anything - wouldn’t rely on it for tools. I’d speak to my clinical psych about anything like that eg DBT, CBT, EMDR etc

Hi @bellagrace,
I just wanted to jump in and welcome you to the forums! Thank you for sharing.
Here's a tip for using forums: if you want to respond to someone, you can tag them using the @ symbol and type out the username then select it from the list. It will turn blue when the member is tagged correctly (like this @yggdrasil) and it will ensure that the member is notified of your response.
I look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Yes, I use chatGPT to make sense of my thoughts all of the time. From general journaling to financial to relationship problems. I find it helps a lot more than just journalling without something to prompt you further.
Definitely led me to getting in touch with a therapist and trying EMDR, which is amazing for people with childhood trauma
