Yes @Former-Member my surgery cost a lot too. But the extra hospital stays were covered - I was in a public hospital for a couple of weeks then the final week in a private hospital was covered by insurance.
Sounds as though you have a roomful of stuff... I do too... but I actually have stuff to declutter in every room.
Sounds as though you might need a My Aged Care assessment to get subsidised home help. I get a bit of help once a fortnight through CHSP. I think my latest person is going to be regular.
My scans showed one problem that I'll ask my specialists about, the other queries were stable & benign. The physio paused most of my exercises until after I've seen the specialists.
I enjoyed latchhooking when my vision wasn't good enough to do other things.
Today I had a look at my craft stash and cut some fabric - next step will be seeing if I can thread the sewing machine (I'm expecting it to be difficult). Nothing exciting, just some cotton prints I bought for patchwork that I'll hem instead for hankies.
I noticed a knitting group last time I was at the library.
I'm glad you found the paint by numbers kits. I donated lots of unopened craft kits to the op shop. Mostly needlework.
I've been trying to think nof things I'd enjoy doing. I've been depressed for years and haven't attempted anything much for a long time.

@Dimity only area I don’t have things to sort etc is open plan lounge, kitchen, dining area. One of the various things on the wish list is small garden shed.
my hospital stays cost me zero, thank goodness. It’s all the medical procedures health insurance only partly covers.
Im years away from being eligible to apply for My Aged Care. Various other people here have found it easier to organise and pay for their own cleaner. Hoping you current home help is pleasant to deal with and knows what they are doing. How does Tiger react with you having home help? My 2 most likely would hide.
knitting group sounds nice option for connecting with people. You will find things you enjoy and/or help with connection when time is right. Maybe there are things at home you might find to do that bring you enjoyment…. Maybe taking time to enjoy music or songs (just a thought).
I used to knit bunny rug size blankets that were donated and used for wildlife rescue groups. Were made in 8ply, only ply I could clearly see for quite awhile.
I gave lot of that wool to knitting group here, they knit and donate clothing and toys to hospitals, some charity groups.
my biggest issue with my craft things is the amount I’ve got. Started and unstarted counted cross stitch, knitting, diamond art, paint by numbers. So many different items I’ve started over the years and haven’t finished for various reasons.

So much for decluttering the garage. Woman who used to come to card making group (she tried taking over in fact) this morning sent her hubby to ask where certain items are so she can put them with things she has been given and sell them.
things she is wanting are part of items which were donated to the card making group. Going out soon to bring them out of cupboard in craft room and put everything in my garage….. 3 folding crate hand trolley.
Last day of card making group was about 1yr ago and this woman still sticking her nose in where it doesn’t belong, trying to control things. Was a good morning prior to this, feeling angry now

Is she claiming ownership of the stuff @Former-Member ? It's a bit rough if you'd inherited the stuff from the group when it folded especially if you were a leader of the group.
The only good thing might be if it frees up some space for you.
Today I had a neighbour wanting to dump a cat with 3 kittens on me. I feel sorry for them but I really couldn't accept responsibility. And I have no transport, and everything's closed for the public holiday. I said no and suggested 4 places to contact. I saw a cat yesterday that might have been the mother. It was a light brown tabby that looked quite small and young. It ran from my doorstep, where I keep a water bowl for Tiger (although he doesn't go out much).

I’m probably being pedantic and pig headed @Dimity, oh well so be it. The day this woman found out there was no financial support for the group, at end of the time slot she announced she was quitting as “has a business to run and does have time to run card making classes”. When staff in the office here found out she had joined the card making group they told me she is not to be trusted and likes having things her way.
Cupboard where I found the crate trolleys there is now a lot of things that belong to art and craft group. I’ll go through everything I brought home and will donate to the craft group anything that they might be able to use that is not suitable for card making.
Was windy and but cool at croquet this morning, was a fun game today with lots of laughter. To top off the morning, my team won against a very good team.
More clutter this afternoon after my shopping trip. Went out to only buy couple circular needles and a knitting bag. These plus X number new balls of 8ply currently sitting in garage. I’ll start a cushion cover in next week and put in my case. I usually get easily bored in hospital, even if only there for one night
apart from couple last minute items, case is fully packed this time. Last year I was packing last minute, forgot to pack majority of my meds. Thank goodness was only an overnight stay. Need to remember to take my walking stick this time, forgot last time which was a mistake

The croquet sounds good @Former-Member .
I should try to find my knitting patterns for soft toys.

@Dimity One of my neighbours knits teddy bears for emergency services to use with children. Has said she finds it relaxing plus making things for others gives you lots of enjoyment.
lots of group activities here to choose to do …… croquet, cards, trivia, craft groups, mahjong, lawn bowls, plus others. Also gym, swimming pool, library, table tennis, plus other things to do
weeds in back yard need tending to plus need to focus on housework.
hoping you have a pleasant weekend and are able to take a break from your paperwork

I haven't knitted toys for over 20 years @Former-Member but I agree it was satisfying.
You're lucky to have so many activities to choose from. There's very little here I know of that's available and accessible.
I made an effort to get through some chores and collated paperwork today. I walked a bit further than usual. The garden needs work but I haven't got to it for a while.. The dwarf snapdragons are pretty.
I've booked Tiger in for his arthritis injection.

Hi @Dimity @Former-Member @NatureLover ,
How are you going? I'm thinking of you all.
Seems like we haven't caught up in a while.
@Former-Member , how's your pain management support going?
@Dimity , I"m mindful you were going through a tough issue recently.
@NatureLover are you managing better with the warmer days?

Hello @tyme nice to see you.
My issues are still simmering, haven't been resolved yet. I'm trying to keep a lid on my anxiety and just hope things work out. I'm trying to figure out what to do as I go along.
