Re: General chat

Thanks for your help @Former-Member . I'll try to work through the illogical fear.

Best wishes for your family and business struggles. I can't go into detail about mine either, apart from saying they're there. They can really drag you down.

I wrote down most passwords but it seems I didn't for some important ones. They're for cloud based  things and I'm scared I'll lose access if I can't successfully change them.

I'll try to push through some pain abd gut issues, probably psychosomatic.

Have a good weekend.

Re: General chat

Don’t think I’d refer to your fear as illogical @Dimity

needing to be able to access things, currently can’t and unsure if will be able to would be scary for anyone.

the more important it is to be able to access the items, the higher fear becomes.

Have you tried giving your mind a break and doing things that can calm you and your racing thoughts?

I’ve had a weekend of no energy or interest to do much.  Today did manage to change sheets on the bed…. again.  Set I put on only few days ago don’t fit properly due to my mattress being quite high.  The op-shop pile continue to grow.

hoping to put some clean laundry away plus do couple other things tomorrow before getting Covid booster in the afternoon.

hoping the weekend was kind to you

Re: General chat

Hello @Former-Member perhaps a quiet weekend was a chance to recharge the batteries?

I'm working through some of the bank things but haven't attempted the laptop yet for the legal documents.

I need to sort things for the op shop too. I haven't sorted through the boxes of books for a long time. I'll have to get back to it sometime, but probably not for several weeks.

I just bought a new couch cover. My previous cats had shredded the linen upholstery.  I'll wash it before trying it out.  I bought it online and thought for a while I'd been scammed while it came from overseas then was returned to the warehouse before being reshipped.

I'm having medical scans tomorrow. I'm nervous as one is with contrast. I'm not really sure where I'm going, it's in an unfamiliar shopping centre. (I've ended up going private.)

Re: General chat

@Dimity   I’ve been watching videos by an anaesthetist.  One thing he mentions is patients advocating for themselves…. Telling the person doing the test or giving anaesthetic when feeling nervous and anxious.

ive had scans with contrast and never had any issues.  Don’t be concerned about telling the staff doing the scan how you are feeling.
Could phoning the centre you have to go to and asking for directions about the shopping centre plus their location help?  Staff may have some tips on how to find them

one step at a time sounds good option.  Hoping once the banking side of things is finished that some of the weight starts to lift.

earlier this year I bought some couch covers of different colours online.  Changing the covers to a different colour makes a difference.

im hoping to do opshop drop off by late next week.  My garage has become my storage area with things piled upon other things.  Is mainly clothing plus few other items I thought I would use, never been used since I moved = time for them to go.

doubt I will ever own a car I can get into the garage.  Have long term, very expensive idea for what will be in garage.  Need to clean out the garage, and keep it that way, before starting to take idea to next step.

hoping all goes well tomorrow.  I’m preparing for worst case scenario tomorrow due to having sore arm after all previous Covid boosters.  Bundle of items waiting at post office are going to stay there for few days

Re: General chat

@Dimity @AuntGlow

Couch and armchairs I wanted were only made in dark grey (colour that doesn’t work with my other furniture)

these show the colours of the pull on covers plus throws I bought.  Last photo shows the design, throws I bought are all similar colour of beige and cream.

@Dimity would like to see pic of the cover/s you have bought, if that’s ok and whatever time frame suits you

Re: General chat

I am looking for a couch at the moment too! It's actually one of the hardest pieces of furniture to make work, in my opinion. @Former-Member

Pull on covers are such a great idea. Picture number 3 is really pretty!

I might look into this as well - helps with cleaning! 🤩

Re: General chat

@AuntGlow   I bought the pull on couch covers (pics 1 & 2) first.  I then bought the throw rugs (pics 3 to 5).  Double layer in hope of keeping as much cat fur of the couch as possible,

being approx 6ft I struggle to find couches that have high back.  Due to this I end up buying recliners, even if don’t want the recliner component

Re: General chat

@Former-Member I had my scans today, no real dramas

My sofa cover doesn't look very neat as it doesn't tuck squarely into the sofa's curves.

I've been unable to upload a photo. I might try again later.
